Brief History
Kibuli Core Primary Teachers’ College, formerly known as Kasawo Teachers’ Training College, has a rich history dating back to 1935 when it was established in Kasawo Kigayaaza, now occupied by Kasawo Secondary School. In 1954, the college was relocated to Kibuli hill for better accessibility and to serve the growing population. Originally focused on training vernacular teachers, the college expanded its scope to include students from primary six and eventually primary seven. The introduction of the Grade II teaching certificate in 1985 allowed the admission of students who had completed O’ Level. The college was graciously provided with land by Prince Al-Hajj Badru Kakungulu, leading to its name change to Kibuli Muslim Core Primary Teachers’ College. Today, it continues to provide quality education and training for teachers serving in primary schools.

College Objectives

- To prepare teachers capable of teaching in pre-primary and primary schools with specialization in teaching ECD, lower primary and upper primary classes in Uganda and across the world.
- To prepare teachers who are capable of teaching both secular and Islamic theological studies in a duo curriculum setting.
- To prepare a cadre of skilled preprimary and primary school teachers with 21st century skills able provide leadership for school administration games and sports as well other sectors.
